Sefydlwyd Canolfan Gwyddor Filfeddygol Cymru yn 2015 gan Iechyd Da (consortiwm o bractisau milfeddygol Cymru ynghyd \u00e2 Welsh Lamb and Beef Producers Ltd), gan weithio mewn cydweithrediad \u00e2 Phrifysgol Aberystwyth. Penodwyd y WVSC gan yr Asiantaeth Iechyd Anifeiliaid a Phlanhigion (APHA) fel darparwr partner i ddarparu archwiliadau post-mortem arbenigol (PMEs) o glefydau anifeiliaid fferm newydd ac sy’n ail-ddod i’r amlwg, gan gyfrannu at rwydwaith gwyliadwriaeth sganio gwell ledled y DU.
